PhosNet - 50 g

Seachem PhosNet The top of the line filter media is scientifically designed to quickly remove harmful phosphates and silicates from both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. The media is a synthetic granular ferric oxide with a large surface area, high porosity and the ability to quickly and efficiently bind with targeted compounds to reduce the amount of phosphate and silicate within the water column. The media will also not release the compounds back into the water and is significantly less dusty than competing products. Comes in a 50 gram container.

Directions:

For best results, Seachem PhosNet should be thoroughly rinsed before use and placed in such as way as to maximize the flow of water going through it but not so much that it moves and tumbles against itself in flow of the water. The media is incredibly versatile and can be effectively used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter. Using a filter bag with this media is strongly encouraged.

Use 50 g (1/2 cup) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) of aquarium saltwater or 400 L (100 US gallons) of aquarium freshwater. Leave Seachem PhosNet in place for four days and then carefully test both phosphate and silicate concentrations. If the concentration of the component you are trying to decrease has not dropped to about 0.02 mg/L, then it is time to replace the media, otherwise leave it in place until levels begin to reach undesirable levels again. As long as the concentrations of these compounds remain under control, this media is not yet exhausted. Over treating is not recommended. This media is not an exchange resin and does not release anything back into the water, ensuring optimal water parameters at all times. It does not leach phosphate or silicate back into the water and may be removed, dried, and returned to service until exhausted. For greater ease of use, the continuous use of small quantities of the media yields significantly better results than inconsistent use of larger quantities.
