KanaPlex - 5 g

Seachem KanaPlex is a scientifically formulated kanamycin based medication designed to safely and effectively treat a number of harmful fungal and bacterial fish diseases such as dropsy, popeye, cloudy eye, fin/tail rot, hemorrhagic septicemia and mouth rot. There can be many instances where fish refuse food, making it difficult to administer the proper medications, but this solution is actually absorbed by the fish, making it ideal for instances where fish are being finicky due to stress or illness. Seachem KanaPlex will not adversely affect the delicate filter bed and is easily removed with carbon filter media. Suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Comes in a 5 gram container.

Directions:

Dosing in Water:

Remove all invertebrates as they are extremely sensitive to this medication. Turn off all UV filters, ozone filters, and remove chemical filtration. Use 1 measure (included) per every 20 L (5 gallons) of aquarium water. Repeat this dose every 48 hours to a maximum of 3 doses. In cases of severe infections, it is possible to carry out two rounds of treatment back-to-back. This should only be done if your fish show zero signs of stress at the end of the first treatment.

Dosing in Food

Feed the medicated food mix every day until the infection clears or for up to 1 week. This medicated food can be refrigerated or frozen between feedings.

  • 1 scoop Seachem KanaPlex
  • 1 scoop Seachem Focus
  • 1 tbsp food (preferably pellets or frozen food)
  • A few drops of water if using a dry food

After Treating

When the treatment period is over, KanaPlex can easily be removed using activated filter carbon. The solution will not linger in the substrate or filter media of the tank.
